Your holiday starts at "Il tufo Rosa" Period Residence in the heart of the historical centre
of Pitigliano, ancient capital town of the homonymous county in Maremma. Kingdom of tufo, Pitigliano rise on a
hill of volcanic rock and keep in its medieval structure the ancient castle and the walls reinforced with
bastions in the XVth century.
At "Il Tufo Rosa", Period Residence, built inside St. Michele bastion, you will find the two most important elements of our past:
"The Tufo"; which represents, since the beginning of history, our origins. The roots of a land dear to the Etruscans, rich in nature and evocative atmosphere.
"The Rose"this simple flower became the heraldic symbol of the
Orsini family, Lords of Pitigliano and it reminds us of ancient tales of noblewomen, castles, knights that,

The origins of the building date back to the middle of the XVth century, it was built, at first,
as a fortification with cannons and sentinels, later it was transformed into a private residence until this last
modification when it was designed and furnished as a Period Residence. It is situated on the angle of the
bastion, on the square that leads to the old gateway. It is a central position in an enchanting place. "Il Tufo
